Title: “Hip Hop Farmers”

Logline: A young New York City Hip Hop music mogul, after the unexpected passing of a dear college friend, relocates to Memphis with his fashion influencer fiancé to run an urban farm he co-owns in a community struggling to survive gentrification and to help raise a daughter he never knew he had.

“Hip Hop Farmers” is about a late-20s, chart-topping Hip Hop mogul making serious money moves in the entertainment industry who finds himself inheriting a Memphis urban farm, he had significantly invested in, when his dear college friend unexpectedly passes.

In this narrative story, Jackson must incorporate urban farming into his expanding music empire, overseen by his trusted manager; as well as continue to plan a high-profile wedding with his New York fashion influencer fiancé, with Puerto Rican roots. Just as he strikes a balance between New York and Tennessee, he faces a personal health problem and discovers a long-held secret that leads to a decision to permanently relocate to Memphis.

I believe the compelling storylines, high stakes, and dynamic characters in “Hip Hop Farmers” will appeal to a very wide audience and foster more interest in agricultural careers amongst young African Americans and Latinx in the South and beyond.
